mdo = medium density overlay, it is no better than plywood unless sealed correctly, exterior life if done correctly can be up to 10 years or better.

mdf = medium density fiberboard, not at all the same thing, although your local lumber yard can confuse the 2 quite often.

what are you trying to do with the material, maybe I can give you some suggestions on the right product to use.

Sintra is a nice product if your not looking for strength, if strength is what you seek than there are many better products out there (dibond / alumilite )also there is plywood with vinyl as well as aluminum overlays, but like I said it all depends on what your using it for...
