I recently split a 220 outlet into two 20 amp circuits -- one for my dishwasher and one for the disposal. The 220 had two 20 amp fuses. You might be able to split yours and have two outlets in the same box, each with 15 or 20 amps. A good "how to" book that includes a section on wiring should tell you how. I used a book on Remodelling kitchens. I think it was a Reader's Digest publication, but not sure. It had a good diagram of exactly how to do it. Another book said this is done frequently to save running wire for two circuits. One wire for the 220 is run to the spot, then split off into two circuits. I'm not an electrician, but I study the books. Good luck.
