Masking Tape Adhesive on Hardwood Floors

Posted by C Herrick on October 3rd, 2002 11:36 AM

Before moving into the Arts & Crafts bungalow that we just purchased, we had the floors sanded, stained, and covered with two coats of polyurethane. To protect the floors while we painted, I thought it would be a good idea to cover the floors with rosin paper taped down with masking tape. Bad idea! After removing the paper, adhesive residue and patches of masking tape remained on the floor. How can I remove this without damaging the polyurethane finish?
