If going into block you CAN use .22 shot go with yellow (3) shot. If want to drill into block or brick go with Hammer drill (Bosch is what my company buys only ones that hold up). Now if going into slab thats cured. It now depends on where you live. If you live in Fla. most of the east coast or out west you can use a hammer drill to drill in slab. But, if you live in La. deep south states and north west area you will need a ROTARY Hammer(Bosch once again, believe me we went through a lot to find out). Reason Louisiana has the hardest concrete in the country, Florida the softest. If you rent a rotary hammer you'll probably save a couple of hours time.
