Fortunately, faux timber has come a long way since the 10 year old beams Dodgeman inherited. PCF's expanded polystyrene (foam core only) has a fire retardant added making it a Class 1 fire rated product. Plus, eps not does not emit toxic is no more toxic than wood if it were to melt. The authentic, hand-crafted graining on the hard-shell is better than the real thing and is mcuh lighter and easier to install and also carries a fire rating and an ICBO.....see for yourself at PCF.
