Norm, I don't know what happened but I posted earlier today and it didn't post evidently. Anyway, The clicking you are hearing is most likely coming from the Klixon which is a protection device. It opens the circuit when the compressor draws too much amperage or gets too hot. If you've moved the freezer check to see that all the wires are attached. The most likely cause of the problem is that the capacitor is bad. It can be tested with an ohm meter. It could also be the relay that disconnects the capacitor after the compressor starts. There is a replacement, for the relay, Klixon and capacitor, called a 3-in one capacitor. It it simple to install and should solve your problem. Any air conditioning supply house will carry them. I could tell you how to check the relay too, but it's really easy to get shocked doing it. Best to just replace all three components with the 3-in-one. Hope this solves your problem.
