Long Ago On A Site With A Better Search Engine....

I could have found this answer quicker.
What I remember is to take a strong string/cord like that used in chalk lines, slip it behind the corner of the mirror where it meets the wall, and start sawing back and forth with the string. The string will cut through the adhesive with minimal damage to the wall and mirror. One of the regulars on this site suggested this method as being one he had used several times with good success
