My husband and I haveowned and built Log homes for 22 years in the Sierras and the one most destructive thing you can do is power was logs. It may see just fine the year you do the work, but it leaves major interior dampness t othelogs which cause mole, fungi and rot. This can sep intoyour flooring and carpeting without you even knowing about it. I suggestyou keep a close eye on your foundation and pull up your carpeting around the peremiter of of kyour home. Look for white spots growing at hte edges of carpet and flooring. This can take a few years to develop. We learned the hard way. I hope you are lucky.
