I am a student at CWRU school of engineering and am working on a project for my statics class.
I have an existing beam with the support centered between the two walls. I want to calculate the load distribution and see if I could offset the beam two feet. My home is 3 years old and walls are just 2x4 and drywall. They are 13 feet high and foofing system is all 2x4 prefab trusses with a cathedral ceiling of about 22 feet high. what standard of weight distribution do I use for such walls. I appreciate any help, thanks.
