linoleum floor removal and asbestos fear

Posted by sandy on July 24th, 1998 03:36 PM

i'm going to have my kitchen renmodeled and found out that the old flooring that i was going to have removed has asbestos in it. so here's my controversy. I know that it is very expensive to have the linoleum professionally removed but on the other hand since my current linoleum has a very raised pattern to it that if I were to just have new linoleum layed over it the old pattern would wear through as I've seen on other peoples. Is there anyway to prevent the old linoleum pattern from wearing into my new pattern (I know it would take a few years). Is there anyway to get around the expense of professional removal.
