Unfortunately the felted backing in mid-70s linoleum contained more than its share of asbestos. Manageable, but worth testing for. BUT ITS UGLY GREEN and it definitely has to go. Davids suggestion of installing a new layer over it is a good one. Or, in keeping with that theme, what kind of flooring do you want? If ceramic or stone tile is in order, you can install a ceramic backerboard over the linoleum and go that direction. May need to raise a door and add a transition, but it would look stunning. No asbestos concerns with that option.
