I am replacing the lino in my house with 3/4 inch red oak flooring (do not want the pergo type). As many others have noted on this board when you pull up the lino it leaves the paper and glue. My question is can I put the new hardwood over the existing lino or pull up the lino and put the hardwoods over the left over paper and glue. It would seem since I will be nailing the hardwoods to the plywood subflooring the paper and glue would not be a problem. thanks for your help.
