Debra: There will be times when you want the lights in the room to be bright, as in when you are cleaning, etc.. and there are many times when the ambient light can be low, saving energy and lamp life. Consider the use of dimmers and dimmer switches to to take care of this. The extra cost of the dimmer switches is more than covered by the savings in energy and lamp replacements.
