I need to verify the way a Light Switch should be wired. The way I think it should be wired is: Ground from Fuse Box, Light switch and Light connected together, White from Fuse Box to white on Light, Black on Fuse Box to black on Switch and white on Switch to black on Light.
This is old wiring, meaning that I will have to add the ground on the Light and Switch. Currently the wire is configured literally 12-2.
1. Is the congifuration above correct?
2. In the old days, before ground wires were used did they wire them differently?
Is there an Electrical Guru who can answer these questions for me?
