Level sub-floor

Posted by Dwayne on August 25th, 2002 02:32 AM

In preperation of laying laminate flooring i have removed all linoleum, carpet and tiles on the main floor of my home. The plywood subfloor is quite level except at the front of the home. The subfloor is 1"x4" tounge and groove with 1/4" plywood over top. It seems to me where the joists sit on the foundation at the front, they remained stable over the years, but the rest of the floor has sagged up to 1/4" lower than the front. This drop has occured imediatly after the 1st joist, the second and rest of the joists are 1/4" lower than the 1st joist, but then remain level. Would a 1/4" drop at the front and entrance be much of a consearn when istalling laminate? I am especially concerned due to the high trafic area of the enterance.
