I called a Lennox technician to check my Lennox furnace and the heat pump before the heating season. He found that the heat pump was not defrosting properly so he replaced a couple of parts and billed me $370. Then he opened the furnace and found that ther was problem with the flame sensor and the furnace was not igniting properly. He replaced the sensor but the problem was still there. Now he tells me that the culprit is the Control board, which in Canada, costs $550 + his time + tax. When I heard this my body froze and the brain was blowing with temper. I told him I would cover myself in blankets rather than pay his discounted price of $1100 for parts and labour.
Any suggestions? Any ideas from your experience?
This would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
