In reply to Lennox Furnace Problem... by David Ledbetter on February 5th, 2001 11:15 PM [Go to top of thread]

I have a G23 model furnace which has been giving me problems for the last couple weeks. After reading the forums I was ready to purchase the 53L90 Ignition control board. After calling fot he order I was told that the ingitor wire itself did not come with the kit. The salesman told me to use the same wire as there is rarely any problems with that wire.

This wire pulls straight off the board with relative ease. This I could not tell by looking over the board itself. After pulling the wire off I trimmed about a half inch off the wire and ( screwed , pushed ) the wire back on the metal peg. Presto - instant flame that stayed on and the furnace has been working fine all morning. Try this before replacing the ignition control board!
