Have had a Lennox G23Q2/3-75 now running on the
third Intermittent Pilot Ignition Control (made by
Johnson Controls). It had developed a problem of
"no start" due to a failure of the blue box IPIC.
I found that if the socket the HV lead to the pilot
light was pressed in a horizontal direction, the
spark would begin. I disassembled the module and
after cleaning varnish off the PBC, resoldered
several connections in the area of the HV module
and so far so good.
This unit also started to shut off due to the flame
rollout switch S47 tripping. Tried to obtain a
replacement with no luck. Bought a Lennox switch
rated at 260F degree rating. The original switch
was stamped 119 - I wonder whether the missing F
indicates a C rating...
