Hi. I installed a water softener yesterday, and there is a drip coming from
the point where a 1" PEX adapter connects to the brass valve on the
softener. My question is this: Is there a way, even if temporary, of
stopping this drip using a sealant of some kind, e.g. silicone caulking or
something else? I guess I didn't have enough Teflon tape on the threads of
the adapter when I screwed it in . . . ARGH!
