There are basically three options for lead paint. Remove it, encapsulate it or replace it. Removal is certainly the best option since it gets rid of the problem foreever. However it is costly to have a professional come in to do lead paint removal. The second option is to encapsulate and there are some very good lead encapsiulants on the market. They can only be used on flat surfaces and any friction areas ie door and window frames have tobe stripped. Replace emt again is a very costly scenario. PEEL AWAY I has been used for years to safely remove lead paint.
