laminate cabinets

Donald........never heard of that primer before?? Who makes it??

Something about that primer doesn't like those cabinets.

I assume you are using a latex topcoat??

What I would recommend you get is a primer called Ultra-Hide Gripper (it is a latex product). It is a Glidden product available at The Home Depot as well as ICI Paint stores.

Make sure your cabinets are clean - DO NOT USE A DEGLOSSER. Wipe them with alcohol (methyl hydrate) Apply one coat of Gripper - let sit overnight and then topcoat.

There isn't much I have not seen Gripper stick to.

Without talking to you or seeing what is happening, it is really hard to say exactly what the issue is with that oil primer. Lets just say that it doesn't work - and lets try something I am sure will.
