I bought a Lakewood model 798/240 v0lt 60 hz 16.7amps.

I bought it so I could plug itinto my four prong dryer plug. The reason was to help heat an extension room when the dryer was not used . To my surprise the plug on the 798 is not the same.

So I bought a four wire pig tail and spice it to the 798. black to black; green to green; white to white; BUT the leave the RED wire on the pig tail to attach to nothing on the 798 so I just capped it.

The 798 works, but it would take a year for a hot dog to cook.

Can someone help me? Do I need to attach the RED PIG TAIL wire to a 798 wire to get the heat I am seeking. Or did I do some else wron

Thank you
Steve Cyr
