laying carpet is relatively easy if you have a good set of knees and back. Laying is easy, streatching is the kicker, at least for me. Nothing worse than a poorly stretched carpet.

Secondly, I for one, after research and first hand experience, believe that ceramic tile will set fine on both laminate and of course marble if they are sound. If the laminate is bubling or loose then it will not work. But, for the glue or mastic use only thinset mortar, it will do the job fine.
