hello. i am in the process of refinishing the knotty pine walls in the den of our 1957 house. the planks run vertically, but there are several pale horizontal lines that run across the wood. i thought this was possibly from sunlight and that it would come off with sanding. but i've sanded thoroughly and they are still there. i wiped on a natural finish to see what would happen. still there. any idea what i should do about them?

question 2: the original finish on the knotty pine walls and the oak floors is a very warm orange. what stain do you recommend using to maintain the original warm color?

thanks a lot. please email any responses so i don't miss them.
