knee wall insulation

Posted by cat on January 9th, 2001 11:42 AM

I am insulating an attic knee wall that is against
a bedroom finished (old fashioned plaster) wall.
Standard info says put the vapor barrier toward the
living space but at the store they said that since
the wall is finished, that I can do it the easier way,
putting the paper vapor barrier toward the attic
(easier to staple the paper flanges). But I cannot
confirm this in any of my reading. Can anyone confirm
this for me? Consequences of doing it incorrectly?
thanks so much.
