Greetings! Wow... I never knew this forum existed -- I'm a huge DIYer & love power tools (and cooking).
Anyway... I have FIVE Kitchenetics Gourmet Champ machines, one of which I purchased at about the same time as you bought yours, Vickie. Why do I have four extras?
First of all, you never believe ANYTHING will when they say it's going to last 30 years. Fearing mine would break without being able to get it fixed, I became a distributor for about 3 months. I think I sold about 10 of them. I made enough to buy another one, but my husband (at the time) wouldn't let me (I paid full price for the Gourmet Champ & the Kitchen Mill). So I bought accessories (juicer, pasta maker, meat grinder).
About a year later, a department store in my home town (Dayton, OH) had them on clearance for $69. I bought one at that time, as did my mother, my sister, and sister-in-law.
Over the last two years, I have purchased three more via eBay. And guess what? Every single one of the ones I've purchased are still in their boxes. My original is STILL working. I made bread just last week. And my smoothies come out beautifully in the blender (as long as I do the ice first -- but it STILL "turns ice into snow." I finally had to raid one of my eBay machines for two things... the blender (my fault - I stuck a spoon in too far), and the spatula.
The drive shaft broke about two years ago, and I lost the "F" filter for the Kitchen Mill to a mouse. The unit I bought in Ohio was still in Ohio (I'm in TX), so I had no way to replace it quickly unless I had someone dig the box out of my parents' basement (or con one of them into letting me have theirs -- not a chance!). Previous attempts to find replacement parts had failed, as the distributor from which I purchased my original had gone out of business.
After MUCH Internet searching, I finally found a couple of places. One was outrageously priced and I believe is no longer in business. The other was Blendtec, located in Orem, Utah. Blendtec is a "division" of K-Tec.
They have lots of newer products as well as replacement parts for older products which are VERY reasonably priced, but the shipping can be high if you're only buying one little thing. However, I did a mock order and while a $22 order had a whopping $10 shipping charge, my $65 order's shipping was only $10.27. Go figure.

By the way, my kids were 3 months, 2 years, and 3-1/2 years old when I bought my original. My youngest daughter and my son (middle child) are getting a Champ for wedding presents next year. My oldest (girl) is getting hers for Christmas. I'm tired of storing them, and my husband (a different one) is tired of looking at them in the garage. The other one... that's my spare!
Good luck!!
Amy
