Kitchen Sink Cabinet and Toilet Leaking

Posted by Carrie on December 30th, 2001 08:45 PM

Hello! First time here. I have two questions:

1. I am installing the last kitchen cabinet (hooray) it is the sink cabinet. It is going against a wall that has a baseboard. I would like to just make the counter about 2 inches wider to compensate for that and not attach the cabinet to the wall. I am going to run a backsplash up the wall which will be attached to the counter and obviously the wall (it is going to be tile). Can I do that? The current cabinet seems to be attached to the wall with 2x2 boards going from the front of the cabinet to the wall. The sink is one of those old porcelain sinks that go up the wall so it is obviously attached to the wall. I am a novice at best so don't get too intricate on me!
2. My toilet is leaking from where the bowl meets the floor. Is that a wax seal problem?
