In reply to Tiling the kitchen counter...should I remove the Laminate first?? by Keith on March 6th, 2001 05:00 AM [Go to top of thread]

I would like to replace my exsiting counter top with a new topping that is lasting and inexpensive. I have searched many sites on tile and found laminate fits this bill, yet the builder put in a laminate counter top and its coming apart at the seam and has a burn mark on it. I wanted to replace the counter top myself but do not the skills to do so and do not want to pay an installer major bucks....have any suggestions?
