strip the existing paint. if you choose to try ,,,be prepared for a messy job. seems like the existing paint job is not sticking very well and may be a sign that the previous job was not done with the proper surface prep to assure good adhesion. If it were me I would just sand down the edges of the areas where the paint has peeled off and painting over it with the color of your choice. What color is it painted now? others may offer differing opinions, but if you choose to attempt stripping the paint off....try a good quality liquid paint remover and see what success that offers before going too far. If choosing to repaint you need to degloss and clean the surfaces very well of grease and dirt. then paint with a good quality paint. good luck LJ
