I have a Kenmore sewing machine that I inherited from my aunt. It is a model 148.860 and Sears could not help me with a manual. I found your forum note and it lead me directly to the website that I was looking for. I e-mailed them and am waiting for an anwswer. I'm hoping that this is the one.
