It could be the belt if you can start the dryer(the motor runs) but drum doesn't spin. It might be possible that the excessive jolting from the shoes rolling around could have caused a belt on it's last leg to break or break the key on the pulley but unlikely. If nothing happens it is more likely a fuse or something else. Hopefully it is not a shoelace wound around the drum. If the drum spins freely on its own and the motor still runs, its the belt or a pulley mechanism.
