with hardi backer siding. I used my old circular saw with a new blade carbide that I will discard after the job and it worked just fine.
My hardi backer siding came in 12 foot lengths, this board has no rigidity so when using horses for cutting, make sure you have some 2x4's under the siding to support it or it will break before you complet the cut.
Other wise, I did cut all my material outside, it does create allot of dust and I would recommend using your back up circular saw or clean out your good one with compressed air after the job. It is pretty dusty.
I used expensive deck screws to attach the siding and they worked extremely well. Counter sunk the heads a bit and caulked over the counter.
