I used the plywood underlayment on top of a full 1" T&G subfloor and 12" O.C. Sturdifloor I-Joists, mainly because I wanted to keep the same floor thickness so as not to have a transition to the saltillo tiles or be lower than the cabinets were set up for. Basically I replaced a particleboard underlayment with a solid plywood, and used a high grade so I wouldn't have to level. Rosin paper because we are single story on a crawlspace, and besides, I agree with Dodgeman on everything from door knockers to garage doors...(I just don't agree about what to put in the garage).

Good luck
