Joining /Cutting Melamine Panels

Posted by BrianD on August 16th, 2000 04:19 PM

I am constructing beds for my kids with melamine panels. Couple of questions:

1)I have not done any test cuts yet, but should I get a special melamine blade for my table saw? I've got a thin rim veneer blade that might work. I'm concerned about chip out.

2)I am looking at joining the panels with confirmats, but is there a better way? Should/Can I glue the joints as well, and if so, what would I use and what additional strenght would I gain? Any other first hand experience/tips would be helpful. Thanks.
