I have only used Jarrah as a border strip in one floor, and it is not a light wood, it is about the color of Mahogony, light to dark red, and will weather light.

As for Ebony, there are several species, from Aisa, Africa and Brazil, and I have not had the pleasure of working with any of them, don't have much call for dark floors.

I don't do much with imported wood species, it's hard enough to sell a white oak floor against all the laminates and etc.!!!:)
