Jacking up an old home is very tramatic to the structure and should be done by only a pro. For example, just having my slab jacked up, it takes one jack every 8 feet along the foundation. They must be in complete unison with each other. The jacking is done very slowly matter of fact no more than one inch perday. Then you have to have footings or piers to steady the jack and to hold it in its new place.

Jacking also could cause damage to pipes, electrical cords, and of course the walls.

This is not for a novice at all.
