this was used widely during this time and requires special wire nuts, special additives in the wire nuts and normally does not like mixing copper with this aluminum.

Aluminum conductors or wires deteriorate when hot or a short developes.

Many older homes around here with aluminum eventually have to be completely re wired. They do not last and not safe when this old.
