best to check with Home Depot, Loews or a plumbing supply house to get an extension to install. and enquire about how they install, if not straightforward. it needs to be level or slightly higher than the top of your tile to make sure you effect a really good seal with the bottom of the toilet ,,,even though the wax ring helps create and maintin a well sealed connection. hope this helps.
