So far, Peel Away 6 is by far and away the best stripper I've ever used. Dad's Easy Spray (except for the harshness is second, but a distant second. I've used it on Oak, mohogany, and walnut. It makes no difference. It doesn't work just like the directions say. I recommend that after you have scraped the first layer off, use steel wool and clean water with a little elblow grease and most stains, etc. will come right off. Also I recommend a pre-stain conditioner before refinishing. Also, don't let it sit too long (perhaps 2-5 hours will do it). When it dries too long, it's harder to scrape.
