Hi Kellie,

But the question is: Can you safely use a Reciprocating Saw w/o damaging/cutting the floor joists?

First, remove EVERYTHING you can from the bathroom. Cut out the bad flooring right up against the wall. Then, install your new flooring.

Now, you'll need a Backer Board to install OVER the plywood subfloor. You really DON'T want to install tile on top of plywood, ESPECIALLY in a bathroom where water is literally 'running'.

As for the website, there are a few that show how to tile a bathroom. But if you're not referring to that, then I don't know of such a site. Perhaps someone else does.

My best to ya and hope this helps.
