We've nearly completed a major kitchen rennovation. Our range is now located on a peninsula (no backing wall) I've been browsing various manufacturers for an island/peninsula style range hood - but the costs seem to be OUTRAGOUS!! Has anyone seen any plans where I could build one myself - perhaps by using the "guts" of a standard (inexpensive) range hood and fabricating the new hood? I'd like to do it in copper or another easy to work sheet metal. I have basic fabrication / soldering skills - want to avoid welding. Thanks in advance!!!
