Is this working right???

Posted by Brian on November 15th, 1999 08:14 AM

I have drips of water from my pressure relief valve pipe collecting into a bucket. I have a gas, hot water baseboard heating system. The water pressure from the meter reads between 15 and 20 lbs(is this okay?)

Is this drip normal? The valve appears to work fine, even when I pull the lever to relieve some pressure it empties water but the water stops, except a drip here and there, after I release the lever.

These are the stats on my furnace if it helps.
Hydro Therm, Input BTU 155,000, Output BTU 124,000, Model 155, A.S.M.E. STD Working Pressure 100 lbs max. Relief Valve 124.

Do I need to replace the Pressure Relief Valve? If so it looks easy enough for me to do it, right?
