Is this a closed room or an open room

In reply to How to start your stud so they will come out on 16 in. center's by Zack Massie on December 9th, 2001 11:54 AM [Go to top of thread]

That did not make too much sense, but my meaning is, are you framing from the inside or are you framing from the outside of the area?

Is this new construction where you laid the foundation and now beginning the wall framing?

You can only get 16 OC from the outside as you would be laying the sheathing. You start at one corner and tape the very end then mark every 16 OC and then you make sure that you hang the sheathing in the same order. Always make sure that the third stud is perfect as this one does share the sheathing with the one on the left and the one on the right. If in doubt, have a 4 foot sheathing template handy to make your third stud configuration.

I am not sure I answered your question as you would want it, but the question was alittle confusing to me.

Come back with follow up and we will all jump on.
