Is it ok to texture over wall with minimal wallpaper glue on it?

Posted by Victor Trucco on February 3rd, 2001 09:20 PM

I've removed the wallpaper in my guest bath, but this particular paper seemed to use lots of glue to hold it on. I've scraped the walls again after removing the paper, but they still have a slight tacky feel to them when moist. I'm concerned that if I scape further I'm going to chip away at the skim coat.

My plans are to texture the surface and paint. Is it ok to proceed with texturing and leave the remaining wallpaper glue on the surface?

Thanks,
