Iron or heat gun works for small area....

But if you are talking about a large area or long run (such as a post-formed countertop) then forget it. That takes expensive machine tools to do.

The heat gun (or iron - protect laminate with a towel) works for a small area (about the size of the iron's shoe). The lam cools too fast for anything bigger. This is ok for things like bending the edge strip around a radiused corner. You can get a tight radius using this method.
