Intermittent plumbing leak

Posted by BGK on December 30th, 2000 05:06 PM

Hi all!
I have an intermittent plumbing leak somewhere in a wall that has a shower on one side of the wall and a tub on the other. The water has ruined the ceiling in a closet in the basement. I have since removed the drywall from this ceiling and have been staring up among the pipes and flood joists while water was running upstairs trying to see a drip. I have also checked while family members were using the tub or shower to see if having some weight in the tub or shower pan makes a difference. So far I haven't seen anything. Short of taking the drywall off the wall upstairs on the tub or shower side and having a plumber replace everything, does anyone have any suggestions for isolating this leak?
Thanks for your suggestions!
