We recently bought a duples that is about 110 years old. In the 1930's a family converted the home to a 1 family, and in the 1960's someone converted it back. In the front rooms the later owner covered the opening between the rooms with panneling. We have removed the panneling and the plaster, and want to leave the brick wall exposed. I am having trouble finding a good way to remove the remaining plaster(the wall is completely visible, but there are places where a very thin layer of plaster is still sticking to the brick), and mortar that the original brick masons sloppily put on. Do you have any suggestions about cleaning the wall so that it looks appealing as an interior wall?
