In reply to Plastic Connector Cracked...what caused it?? by Deanna on February 21st, 2001 01:30 PM [Go to top of thread]

Hi Deanna,

We grill year 'round (weather permitting.) And we live in SE PA. For the past 7 years, we've never experienced any type of 'broken parts' on our grill. And our grill is on the deck (year 'round) AND the parts are 6+ years old. Soooo, your 'problem' is interesting.

I will add that my particular grill has 2 flexible hoses (double-sided burner) that 'clip' into a feeder that 'receives' gas from the tank. I'm not all that clear as to what you're describing, but in any event, we have a rubber hose that goes from the tank itself to this feeder. Then, the 2 flexible hoses connect to the same feeder at a different point. This feeder I'm talking about is a 'middle man' in the flow of the gas. The gas line and/or the flexible hoses can be disconnected from the feeder independently of each other. No plastic anywhere in the 'flow'. Our propane grill is a Sears.

With all that, I'd be guessing that the plastic cracked due to the weather ...
