I suppose in high moisture areas, the plastic could prevent ground drying and evaporation. I wonder if heating the crawlspace would help in that situation? Seems like it would.

Another thought is that plastic on top of wet ground would really promote habitat for termites. Sounds like there is no perfect answer for all problems in every part of the country.

At least soaker hoses aren't needed in this situation. lol
