insulation in double brick home

Posted by Pete in Canada (it's freezing!) on January 31st, 2003 08:50 AM

More to the point, there isn't any.

My house is late 1800's vintage. Double brick, air space, rough cut two by four and then wood lathing and plaster.

I'm going to point all the cracks in the exterior brick this spring to reduce air coming in. Windows are already done.

My question is... should I have insulation blown into that airspace between brick and plaster and what type? This house is freezing! (actually just uncomfortable, gotta wear the woolies all the time)

Any thoughts?
